Party Ponies and Friends offers a youth volunteer program where students 12 and up volunteer for events and earn riding time. One 3-4 hour event earns a full hour of riding time valued at $65. We often ride longer than this if the location and time permits for us to do so. During our Summer Season, Volunteers ride as much as 3-6 hours per week. 2008 Volunteers
Our youth program is intended to help students learn good work ethics, and responsibility while giving them an opportunity to work with animals and learn riding as well.

At events youth learn how to work with grace and courtesy with the public, handling of a variety of animals and helping children.
As the summer goes on our youth learn a variety of information regarding the animals that are used at our events. Some of our volunteers have gone on to join 4H and FFA groups and have auctioned their own livestock at the Alaska State Fair or shown other animals.
No Experience is neccessary. This is a youth opportunity so we do all the training.
This Volunteer Program benefits both the youth volunteering as well as Party Ponies and Friends and the community events and programs that we support.
Our youth have opportunities involving animals and horse riding that they otherwise may not have the opportunity to experience, as well as meeting other kids with similar interests.
Having this program allows Party Ponies and Friends to place it's self into the community where we are needed most. Please see our Community Page.
The number of Volunteers that we can accept for our riding program each summer depends on the consistent involvement of those participating. We recommend that a student truly interested in riding commit to volunteering on a regular basis. There are however times when this is not possible and thus we have room for more volunteers.
Please fill out our Volunteer Application to be considered for this program. If we have a space open we will contact you. |
